Sono trascorsi 29 anni da quando i R.E.M hanno pubblicato il brano poi diventato celebre intitolato ‘Losing my Religion’. Era esattamente il 19 febbraio del 1991 e nonostante siano trascorsi quasi 30 anni da quel giorno ecco che questo continua ad essere ancora oggi un brano molto ascoltato ed apprezzato. Questa è infatti la canzone più famosa dei R.E.M e quella che ha portato il grupp al successo mondiale.

Losing My Religion
Losing My Religion è un bellissimo brano che porta la firma del noto chitarrista dei R.E.M ovvero Peter Buck il quale ha raccontato nel corso degli anni di aver scritto questo brano proprio mentre guardava la TV. A dirigere il videoclip è stato invece Tarsem Sing ed è stato nominato il video dell’anno agli MTV Video Music Awards del 1991. In riferimento al titolo del brano, ovvero ‘Losing My Religion‘ è possibile dire che si tratta di un’espressione che viene utilizzata solitamente nella zona meridionale degli Stati Uniti e che significa di preciso ‘perdere la ragione’ oppure ‘perdere la pazienza’.
Con questo bellissimo brano la band è riuscita a conquistare due premi importanti. Stiamo parlando del premio Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal e Best Short Form Music Video.
